5th Wasserstoff-Treffen in Heidelberg: join hydrogen enthusiasts on 18 July
Hydrogen enthusiasts, mark 18 July in your calendar. The community behind H2-Freunde is organising the 5th Wasserstoff-Treffen in Heidelberg — an informal, accessible gathering for anyone curious about hydrogen mobility.
What and where?
The event takes place at Europaplatz in Heidelberg, starting around 12:00. The atmosphere is open and welcoming: no paid conference, just a meeting of like-minded people — from experienced hydrogen drivers to those who want to learn more for the first time.
What's on the programme?
The programme includes:
- Impulse talks — short, inspiring presentations on hydrogen and the energy transition
- FCEV demonstration using a model — how does a fuel cell vehicle actually work?
- Hydrogen vehicles on display
- Information and discussion — space for questions, conversations and sharing experiences
It is exactly the combination that makes hydrogen mobility tangible: not just theory, but vehicles you can see and touch, and people who drive them every day.
Heidelberg: a hydrogen city on the rise
Heidelberg is no coincidence as a location. The Rhine-Neckar region is one of Germany's more active hydrogen areas. Through the H2Rivers and H2Rhein-Neckar projects, dozens of fuel cell buses are now operating in Mannheim and Heidelberg, co-funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg and the federal government. The region is demonstrating that hydrogen mobility works at city scale.
